Welcome to A Child’s Nature

A Child's Nature offers families in the Monadnock and Souhegan communities a unique program offering quality, loving care for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

We care for every part of a child's nature. Inspired by the principles of Waldorf education, A Child's Nature strives to educate the whole child: hands, heart, mind, and spirit.

Our daily schedule includes two to four hours of outdoor play. We provide opportunities for children to imagine, explore and discover through play and purposeful work. A strong focus on community nourishes a sense of belonging and ensures the children feel secure and self-confident both within the classroom and in the world.

Confused about care options for your child?  We can help!

Learning how to select an early childhood education or care program for your child can be overwhelming.  Some parents have very specific philosophical and environmental ideals when it comes to their child's care and education, while others are still forming opinions and seeking to learn more. The professionals at A Child's Nature have been in the business of providing care and education for young children for multiple decades. We have put together a free E-Book to provide you with insights and thoughts to consider as you move through your early childhood care and education selection process.

We are located in the Children's village, on the beautiful wooded campus of the Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton, NH.

First Day of the School Year

Monday, August 28, 2017

We are looking forward to a wonderful school year! Soon we will be welcoming in the Autumn breeze and the apples will be ripe on the trees. News on fall festivals and events will be coming soon.

My nice red, rosy apple,

Has a secret that's unseen,

You would see if you could slip inside,

Five rooms so neat and clean.

In each room there are living,

Two pips so black and bright.

Asleep now, they are dreaming,

Of lovely, warm sunlight.

And sometimes they are dreaming,

Of what one day they'll be.

They dream that they are growing,

Into an apple tree!

In 2013, the Pine Hill Waldorf School in Wilton NH offered A Child's Nature (formerly the Pine Hill Child Care Center in Peterborough NH) a new home on their campus. We are housed in Building #9 located in The Children's Village.

Our Buttercup Pre-Kindergarten (ages 3 to 5 years) is located on the left-hand side of the building in a large, post and beam classroom with a lovely covered porch. This program fully prepares children for kindergarten at Pine Hill Waldorf School, or your local public/private school.

Our Sweet Pea Infant/Toddler group (babies from 6 weeks old and toddlers up to 3 years) is located on the right-hand side of the building in a large, post and beam classroom with a lovely covered porch that opens to a fenced-in, garden-style play-yard..

Both classes have wonderful natural playgrounds surrounding the building, while the older children also explore the nearby woods & trails, and visit the neighboring farm.

who are able of themselves to impart
purpose and direction to their lives.”
