New Location still being sought

The Board of A Child's Nature is still exploring options for a new location.  They are currently looking into Norah's Depot, a former child care center in Greenfield, as well as some more temporary solutions.  Unfortunately, the big white farmhouse in Greenfield turned out to be too expensive to fit up to meet all the regulations.

New Location in Greenfield !

We have such exciting news to share: We have a new location in Greenfield!  After several late-into-the-night meetings of the board, the decision was finalized late Tuesday night.

Although the location in downtown Peterborough seemed very promising and we were beginning to imagine ourselves there, the reality is the ongoing costs of considerably higher rent combined with the quote for the build-out costs (the costs to make necessary changes to the space to accommodate our needs) are simply prohibitive given our time constraints and current level of financial donations and support.

We are very excited to fully embrace our new location in Greenfield. It is a large white farmhouse at 608 Forest Road, half a mile outside the center of Greenfield. The beautiful rural setting will support our philosophy and outdoor focus with its large grassy play area and several acres of woodland for exploration and adventures. It is only 10 minutes from our current location.

Our Board is currently working out the details of the rental agreement.  Projected financial donations will make the necessary build-out possible at this new location. We will be able to move seamlessly at the end of June, and continue to offer our high quality, mindful, loving care to children from our community.

The support of our community has been and continues to be so important as we make these transitions, and we thank you so much for all of your work and contributions of energy, hope, and love.

We look forward to continuing to work together toward creating a wonderful future for our center

Children and the Arts  Parade and Fundraiser

The Parade is coming! The Parade is coming!

Saturday, May 18

2012  Parade practice at ConVal

2012  Parade practice at ConVal

Parent volunteer event: Parents, children and teachers will march in the parade with a giant tree puppet. The children will dress up as woodland animals or gnomes, with the babies in sunflower decorated strollers or backpacks.  Meet at 11:30 at PES to get children's faces painted and form up for the parade.  Parade starts off at 12:00 from PES and ends at Putnam Park downtown by the river.

We will also sell yogurt parfaits as a fund-raiser in the food court downtown all day.  Help is needed for set-up, making/ selling parfaits, and clean-up.  Donations of frozen berries and other supplies will also be appreciated.

We’ve Created a New Organization and are Seeking a New Location!

  • Since 2005, the Pine Hill Child Care Center has run successfully under the umbrella of the Pine Hill Waldorf School.
  • The PHCCC has been located at ConVal High School Vocational Technology Center since its inception.
  • Pine Hill will be discontinuing their oversight of the center as of July, 2013.
  • In order to continue the center’s mission, a new non-profit organization, A Child’s Nature — Care and Education LLC, was created in early 2013.
  • ConVal HS will reclaim the child care space, so A Child's Nature will need to move to a new location July 1, 2013.
  • We have excellent internal support from our current staff and parents, and look forward to continuing this important and rewarding work in a new location!
  • See Contact Us for location and donation opportunities!

News from our director

Welcome to our new website! We are celebrating the creation of A Child's Nature, a new non-profit organization supporting early childhood education and child care in the Peterborough, New Hampshire area.  Created to continue the wonderful work that the Pine Hill Child Care Center has provided since 2005, our new organization is seeking a new location beginning July, 2013.
